I still remember the days when I did not have a washing machine in my house. Semi-automatic machines, hand washing - all this was not as convenient and fast as it is now.

With the purchase of an automatic washing machine, I, like many others, got real pleasure from washing. And I just enjoyed her impeccable work for a couple of years!

But over time, I began to feel an unpleasant smell from the drum of the washing machine. Yes, and it became much worse to heat water, which affected an increase in the wash cycle and, accordingly, an increased energy consumption.

All this, of course, upset me, but after studying the problem, I realized - it's time to cleanse!

How to clean a washing machine

Having studied the instructions well and having watched many videos on how to clean the washing machine from dirt, I was convinced that almost all elements of the machine need to be cleaned: from the inside of the drum to the drain filter.

The editors have prepared 5 perfect tricks for you, and the pollution of the washing machine will no longer be a problem for you. Fast, clean and very convenient!

Car door

After washing, not only the laundry remains wet, but also the door of the machine. Try to keep the car open at all times to prevent mold from developing in it due to high humidity.

Cuff (sealing gum) scraper

The sealing gum of the typewriter likes to accumulate dirt and mold, so it must be especially carefully cleaned. This can be done with any cleaning agent or baking soda.

If there is too much mold in your machine, which also gives off an unpleasant odor, you need to use a strong detergent. However, please note that the use of chlorine-containing products is too often undesirable, this can lead to deformation of the rubber.

For cleaning, apply a little of the chosen product to the sponge. Gently pull the rubber towards you and wipe the metal part of the case. Clean the cuff in the same way. Be careful not to pull the rubber too hard to avoid damaging it!

Descaling the drum

It is possible to remove deposits of minerals on the heating element and drum from scale by a very simple, but powerful method, and for a penny.

Scale consists of magnesium and calcium salts, which means that you need to act on it with organic or inorganic acids. And there are such acids in every home. Ordinary vinegar or citric acid will come to your aid.

The easiest way is using citric acid. You will need 1 to 6 packs of citric acid. How much citric acid to pour depends on the volume of the washing machine and the degree of its pollution.

Add the detergent to the detergent drawer and run the machine at the maximum temperature and operating time.

Cleaning the tray

Pull out the tray, follow the instructions for your model of washing machine. Then get rid of old powder deposits with any cleaning agent, then wipe the compartment clean.

Use a mixture of vinegar and baking soda to remove rusty deposits. Wet the container with this solution and leave it for 30 minutes, or better for a couple of hours.

Cleaning the drain pump

If you run the filter hard, the machine will sooner or later refuse to drain the water, because of which it will go up and may break out. Fortunately, cleaning your washing machine filter is very easy.

To do this, open access to the filter. It is usually found at the bottom of the case. However, before unscrewing the lid, lay a towel on the floor and place a container under the drain to collect water.

Unscrew the lid counterclockwise and remove all accumulated debris and dirt from the hole: it can be coins, hair, wool, toothpicks and other trifles. Wipe the hole, close it and replace the trim panel.

Follow these simple guidelines, and your washing machine will not only look like new, but it will also work better, and your laundry will be clean, fresh and fragrant after washing. I hope these tips were useful to you. Let the washing process be easy and comfortable for you.
