Laziness. How often this terrible and disgusting phenomenon spoiled people's lives. It was precisely the lack of desire for work that led to poverty and the eternal lack of money for most of our fellow citizens. And sometimes too lazy to turn to the source for the correct calculation of taxes leads to a large shortage of money already among those citizens of the country who have earned a lot of it. However, such people are not built to be very upset about their personal characteristics, as recent studies by French neurophysiologists have shown that all these people could simply "pick up" the laziness virus.
A group of scientists from the Paris Institute of the Brain and Spinal Cord, during decades of research into everyday emotions and gestures that are familiar to animals and humans, have noticed that scratching or yawning is contagious. And if someone in society begins to itch or yawn, then many others also begin to do the same. Moreover, the roots of such a reaction of our body have recently been found in mice, in which researchers have found a special area of the brain responsible for creating such reactions.
To confirm this theory, the French, using the methods of mathematical modeling and psychology, built three algorithms of actions for one economic strategy game. In the first method, the situation of actions of an overly active person was modeled, in the second - lazy, and in the third - cautious. And then fifty respondents offered to play this economic game. It was during the game that scientists confirmed the fact that laziness, prudence and impatience are contagious.
Each volunteer of this experiment was introduced by the French to the opportunity to learn the actions of other participants before the start of the game (and all these experimental strategies were only previously modeled AI strategies, differing from each other only in the degree of "laziness", and not in the actions of real respondents). Next, the players were offered a set of pictures with goods and prices for them, as well as the estimated amount of income from their sale, and the player had to find the best option for action and predict the reaction of the previous game
The results of observations showed that on an intuitive level, each person was "infected" with the strategy chosen by scientists and gave up working with their brains, but was just as lazy or impatient as artificial intelligence. Neurophysiologists considered such "infectiousness" to be a consequence of the fact that intuitively any person puts himself in the place of those around him to understand their goals and principles, and also believes that other people should think in the same way as he does. As a result, people often mistake others for their own preferences. And laziness often becomes this borrowed form of behavior.
However, some psychologists say that laziness is a natural need of the human body to save energy. For example, developed as a result of overwork and exhaustion of the body at work, or simply an intuitive response to your feeling of uselessness during the task at hand.
And sometimes a person develops a back reaction - after a long idleness, a strong reaction arises to work. This is exactly the situation that recently happened to the American Billy Hansen, who missed his job so much for three years that he considered the best gift for a century to be able to return to his workplace for one day.
