In Germany, a project is in full swing (so to speak) that will last for the next 1000 years. We are talking about the construction of a unique archaeological structure "Pyramid of Time", the construction of which should take exactly one millennium. The pyramid is extremely simple in structure, but the creation of each of its parts requires funds and efforts, which the authorities are in short supply right now. However, now they are not needed.
The idea of the Pyramid of Time belongs to the artist Manfred Laber, who proposed to create an unusual monument for the 1200th anniversary of the town of Wemding in South Bavaria. In the city itself, despite its age, there are not enough really ancient architectural structures, and their value is not very high. Therefore, Laber proposed to launch a project that will be built by many generations of people, a structure without age and timeless, which will personify the very desire of people to conquer time.
If we discard the philosophical component, then the Pyramid of Time is just a set of concrete prisms, with a cross-section at the base of about 1 m and a height of 2 m.Each weighs about 6 tons, they are installed at an equal distance from each other in four tiers, one block every 10 years ... The first tier will be "one-story", but already 640 years after the start of construction, the second floor of concrete prisms will have to be erected, and over time, the rest of the pyramid will be built up. How to do it technically, Laber deliberately omits, leaving the task to the descendants.
The first three blocks have already been delivered, and the fourth will come in 2023. The terms of the project do not restrict builders in any way in the composition of the material, cladding, the use of paints, sealants, etc. On the one hand, right now there are no reliable solutions for a 1000-year project; on the other hand, the creative idea of the Pyramid of Time is precisely for the builders of the future to add their know-how. They looked at the work of their predecessors and left their achievements as an example to posterity.
