Disney opened the Pandora: The World of Avatar theme park last year, which has an important feature: the place has a story and a plot of further development. This marks the emergence of landmark updates and the freshest of them was the introduction of a new employee to the park staff in a huge erect exoskeleton. He and his costume are part of the tourist program.
The world of the planet Pandora is inhabited by creatures much larger than humans, so fragile earthlings put on assorted exoskeletons and came up with the technology of avatars. The second has already been partially implemented in the "Flight to the Banshee" attraction, and now visitors will be able to see with their own eyes the conditions in which ordinary colonists work. The actor-guide in his costume acts as a living witness to the history of the development of Pandora.
The highlight, of course, is the exoskeleton itself. It is a combination of a bipedal robotic platform, a cockpit and a pair of manipulators with direct human control. The car really walks, busily waving its limbs, the pilot controls it and can play an impromptu performance in front of the audience. But do not be thrown by trucks - manipulators are rather weak for serious tasks, and safety is above all.
The exoskeleton is deliberately made unsightly, worn, with traces of exploitation. According to legend, this is a working model for geologists, laboratory assistants and engineers who work in the field conditions of the inhospitable Pandora. No armor and weapons, as in the film, but with a height of more than 3 m, the car looks more than impressive. It will be possible to see the exoskeleton at work at the end of April.
