One of the world leaders in the production of motorcycles, the Italian company Ducati (now owned by Audi AG) has repeatedly announced its intention to come to grips with the production of electric motorcycles.
Apparently, these intentions are becoming reality. The head of Ducati, Claudio Domenicali, during one of the events in Spain, told the audience that "the future belongs to electricity, " and therefore the company is closer than ever to launching its own electric bike.
The company already has little experience in creating electric vehicles. So Ducati launched several electric bicycles in partnership with other companies, in particular, the Ducati Zero concept was developed in conjunction with the Ecole Polytechnique of Milan.
It is still difficult to judge what the new product will be like. Most likely it will be a high-speed sports car. It is also unclear when it will see the light of day. According to the regional managing director of the company Eduard Lotte, the electric version of Ducati may not appear until 2021.
Obviously, it will not be easy to conquer the Ducati market, since such motorcycle brands as Honda, Yamaha and Harley-Davidson have already managed to "register" there.
