Yamaha launches Civante, a high-speed third-class electric bike

Yamaha was the first to mass-produce electric bicycles in 1993. Its success in this field is beyond doubt, and the other day the company presented a new model called Civante. Its main advantage is that it is the first electric bike of the third class brand.

Most of the components are manufactured at the company's own facilities, which made it possible, for example, to hide cables and cables inside the aluminum frame. They did not forget about the holes for attaching the fenders, stand and cargo rack. The 500 Wh lithium-ion battery is also its own, it is removable and charges up to 80% in an hour. When driving, four power levels are available, and the torque reaches 70 Nm. Since this is the third class, the speed of movement on an electric motor is 45 km / h, but the pedals have not gone anywhere either.

A three-way sensor system measures the speed, torque and rpm of the drive wheel to optimize energy consumption. This can be controlled via the Bluetooth-enabled LCD display, and when operating in manual mode, 10 speeds are available, hydraulic braking, Shimano STI shifters, and an LED lamp. The bike is equipped with puncture-proof tires.

The Yamaha Civante will go on sale this month. The expected price is $ 3400.
